About Jasmine

Jasmine was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, in a single-parent home with her mother and two siblings. She was raised in church all her life, among the preachers who preceded her.

As early as five years old, Jasmine showed an intense interest in God. She says, “It’s as if I knew what the preacher was preaching; I understood it.” When Jasmine was only eight years old, the Lord began sending her prophetic dreams and visions. Encouraged by her mother to take them seriously and to embrace how the Lord was beginning to use her, Jasmine wrote the dreams down so she could reference them in the future. Shortly thereafter, Jasmine was able to use her God-given gift of prophecy to tell her mother various things that would happen in the days ahead.

As a child, Jasmine was always active in her church choir. She later became a worship leader under the direction of her aunt and uncle, who were her pastors. Eventually, she became a licensed minister under the same ministry and went on to help her father, serving as his assistant in preaching, singing, and leading the people. Like anybody else, Jasmine went through a season of questions; she wondered what was next and what the Lord would do with her. She began to feel inadequate and out of place, like an outcast. Then the Lord gave her three consecutive dreams, revealing to her His will for her life.

After a season of feeling spiritually depleted, Jasmine’s spirit came alive once again. Still, she knew there was more in store for her, and she wanted to tap into whatever it was. In 2016, Jasmine became restless, hungry, and tired of “church as usual.” She knew there was more to God than what was being taught; she got tired of generational cycles, dysfunctions, and the perversions that tried to attach to her. At this time, her roots in the Spirit began to form.

The same year, Jasmine attended a new service with the man who is now  her husband. The speaker was Prophet Kevin Leal. He called her up and described her own life to her from the beginning. He spoke the word of the Lord to her, ultimately birthing and awakening something in her spirit that confirmed what the Lord had showed her by way of dreams and visions. Despite adversity, systematic challenges, foreclosure, lack of identity, family dysfunctions, generational curses, and a volatile upbringing, Jasmine knew who she was called to be, what she was created to do, and who she was designed to reach. Her God-given purpose was far greater than her.

Now Jasmine serves as loving wife to Apostle Pastor Robert Sams and mother to Jewel (Jewelly) Sams. She is bonus mom to four and the founder and Executive Pastor of The Oasis Church. “It’s my life mission,” Jasmine asserts, “to spread the message of Christ through my story and ultimately allow generations to walk through DOORS OF DELIVERANCE.”
